Since 2009, Nic has directed undergraduate academic support, including academic coaching, tutoring and learning strategy seminars at Princeton University’s McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning. Prior to Princeton, Nic directed the Study Strategies program at UC Berkeley and also taught courses in the Psychology Department & Graduate School of Education on both college teaching and learning. Nic is highly regarded in the Ivy League and beyond as a highly experienced academic coach and consultant. Nic has worked closely with student-athletes transitioning into college for over 15 years. He was awarded the 2002 K. Patricia Cross Leadership award by the American Association of Colleges and Universities; he has also received the College Reading and Learning Association Professional Development Scholarship and was recently awarded the TRPP Associates Innovation Award for his first-of-its-kind project, Principedia. He is active in the higher education community, presenting at the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network and American Association of Colleges and Universities national conferences and is the author of "Life Beyond Grades: Designing Intrinsically Motivating College Courses", published by Cambridge University Press.
