NCAA General Information
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is a non-profit association that regulates athletes of 1,281 institutions and helps more than 450,000 college student-athletes who compete annually in college sports.
Division I
- Largest Athletic budget and offers most generous scholarships
- 350 colleges with a total of 170,000 student-athletes
- Extremely competitive
- Need 16 core courses from high school to be eligible
- Need a minimum high school GPA of 2.3
Division II
- Not as large of a budget as DI, but still offers scholarships
- 300 colleges
- Highly competitive
- Need 14 core courses from high school to be eligible
- Need a minimum high school GPA of 2.0
Division III
- Largest NCAA division with 450 schools
- Does not offer athletic scholarships
- Least competitive
- Pushes student-athletes
