As a head coach, Jim Stagnitta holds a career professional and amateur record of 236-136 and has guided teams to seven NCAA tournaments and two MLL playoff appearances. His comprehensive coaching experience in Ivy League, Division I and Division III scholarships demonstrates a strong foundation in recruiting and coaching student athletes on all levels. He was awarded the 2016 Brine Coach of the Year award by Men's Major Lacrosse. Jim is also Founder of MVP Team Exposure recruiting events.
His expansive career includes:
- 1984: Graduate of University of Pennsylvania; 3-year men’s lacrosse letter winner
- 1987-1989: Assistant Coach - University of Pennsylvania - 1988 Final Four
- 1989-2001: Head Coach - Washington and Lee University - Twelve straight Top Ten NCAA finishes
- 2002-2011: Head Coach - Rutgers University - 2003 NCAA Coach of the Year
- 2012-2013: Head Coach - Denver Outlaws MLL - 2013 Coach of Year
- 2014-2016: Assistant Coach - University of Pennsylvania
- May 2016 – Present: Head Coach - Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse
Jim’s philosophy:
"As a former Division 1 athlete with 30 years of coaching/recruiting experience at the Division 3, Ivy League and Division 1 scholarship level, I have vast insight and experience in all aspects of recruitment, preparation and development of the college-bound athlete. Whether you are just starting out your high school career and college search process or ready to begin your collegiate journey, I can provide you with the tools and guidance to help you obtain your goals and maximize your college athletic and academic experience. As the parent of a college-bound Division 1 athlete, I have a unique perspective from being on the other side of the recruiting and college prep table.
